Sooo...

Yep, I obviously forgot that I even had a blog! HA! January was my last post, I don't know even know if I can remember everything that has gone on since then, so I'm just gonna start with now.

Logan - Well, we don't see much of him these days. He is back and forth between his gf's, his mom's and here. He should be starting his college classes soon, we hope anyway! He and Brittani have been together 2 years now...well if you don't count the off & on's. HAHA!

Keelan - I don't have a whole lot to say about him, we never or should I say rarely see him. He did come over last week, but it was just for the night. We were all surprised to see him. He's growing up so fast! Still the forever long hair...maybe he'll grow out of that soon. LOL! Yeah right! He will be a junior this year!

Alana - Miss Middle Schooler! She is definitely working hard on that "pre-teen" thing and EVERYTHING that goes along with it. Yeah, not sure I'm lovin' all of that. Oh well, I can't stop it...I've tried. She seems pretty excited about 6th grade and we had Gator Camp last night. She got to meet her teachers, walk her schedule and got all of her stuff in her locker. I've decided middle school is gonna break me though. PE uniforms, PTA dues, fundraisers, the ever growing school supply list....We'll see how much all that continues to be added to as of Monday.

Connor - Our gamer! He was excited last week to be going to QuakeCon (hope I spelled that right). We haven't heard how it went yet, maybe tonight. I'm sure he had a blast. He is going into the 5th grade this year! Wow! Time sure does fly!!

Cody & I - The two of us...we are good! Stressed as usual, but nothing our love can't get through. I am not usually a positive person, actually I have to work hard to be positive, but I do know that with him by my side, we'll make it through anything. He is my rock. I'm looking for work, hopefully just part time, but we'll see how it all works out. Part of me is wishing I still had my RDA, as I have seen several assisting jobs available. I'm sure I will find something soon. Cody is still working like crazy. He has his job in Carrollton, but he is also working on a website of his own, just something for fun I believe. We are looking forward to cooler weather because we are in desperate need of a get-away. We really are ready to go camping. Hopefully we'll get to make it happen soon.

One of my New Year's resolutions...BLOG!!!

I have to admit that I am kind of sad to see 2009 go, as I married my best friend in 2009! I am very much looking forward to what 2010 has in store for us! I can't believe our 1 year wedding anniversary is quickly approaching!! I'm excited!

The holidays were good this year, a little stressful as usual, but despite some unexpected occurrences, I think we have a GREAT holiday season. The Monday before Thanksgiving, I lost my job. But Cody and I are taking it as an opportunity for me to live my dream of being a stay home mom/housewife and eventually going to culinary school!! I am so excited, yet nervous to fail at this whole housewife thing! I'm working on it though! Thanksgiving went well. It was so great to be with family and friends. Christmas was great too! Cody and I had fun shopping together...well...at least being at the mall together...we usually went our separate ways once we got there so we could shop for each other. The kids pretty much got everything they wanted and I did too! Cody...I mean "Santa" was very good to me this year! I had a very "Coach" Christmas all around!

NYE we kept it pretty low key and stayed close to home. We were sad to miss my sister's Mardi Gras party, but we decided staying in Frisco was best this year. I got my New Year's kiss from the man of my dreams so it couldn't have been better!

After New Year's, we went to Pecan Gap for Christmas with the Derrick family...what a BLAST!! We had such a great time...with the help of a few cocktails, but we laughed and gossiped and just had so much fun! Thanks Nonnie, Cindi, Courtney, Marcia & Britt! Good times! I will have to wait for Courtney to take me to "The Mule" for a little longer though! :-)

WOW! I'm WAY behind!

So as I log in today, I realize how long it's been since I've been on here!! Wow, I'm way behind! Let's see time has gone by so fast I don't know if I can even remember everything that has gone on since my last post! April was busy as every month. We celebrated Easter along with Logan and Keelan's birthdays. It was a fun day! The kids had to hunt eggs in the house due to the rain. Keelan requested Carrot Cake for his birthday and for Logan I made Sopapilla Cheesecake. Mmm! We just enjoyed family time. We were glad that most everyone was able to join us! All in all I think it was a good day. Cody and I helped 2 of our best friends celebrate birthdays. Pepper and Deann did there birthday celebration together again this year and it was a BLAST! We had dinner at Babe's and then we partied at Pete's Piano Bar...good times! We had a garage sale in April too...it was nice to get rid of some clutter and make a few extra bucks. We hope to do another before our honeymoon in June.

Ok, May...wow this month has REALLY flown by. We had Alana's birthday party on May 9th. That was a super fun day! Bounce house, cookout, presents, kids everywhere! I can't believe my baby girl is 10!! She had a blast! Her actual birthday was the 14th, so after school we went to spend the gift cards that were burning a hole in her pocket and just had dinner at the mall. She enjoyed shopping! This past weekend she had surprise party at her dads! More gift cards to go spend soon!!! Friday I volunteered at golf tournament for my nephew's football league! That was soooo much fun! My sister and I were the beer/tequila girls! We made about $450 for the league on beer alone! We were excited about that! To me, getting that day with my sister was the best! Cody and our friend Blake played in the tournament, they had a good time too! All in all I think the MYFL did pretty well! Can't wait til next year! This coming weekend is Memorial Day and we are looking forward to some down time and hoping to go to Lake Sherbert with our friends. We can't wait for fun family time!

So there is an update on the last couple of months! Hopefully I won't be such a stranger! Back to work...UGH! =)

Down & out...

I'm so down and out today...no REAL reason I guess. I'm sitting here at my desk fighting tears. What is my problem? Home life is AMAZING, I couldn't be happier when I'm with Cody and Alana. But work has really gotten me down lately. I'm just not happy. Love most of my co-workers, it's just I feel so much more obligated to be home and taking care of things there. I feel like I'm neglecting my daughter, my husband and my home. I don't know if that is ALL that's got me down today, but that has something to do with it. I miss my family...I know they are only an hour away, but it's just finding the time to get down there and get down there when they don't have a million things going on. Gosh, I just want to crawl in my bed and bawl my eyes out right now. What is wrong with me??

I'm such a stresser

I've very much inherited stressing out from my Mom. I ALWAYS have something to stress and worry about. I hate it...but that's just me. My stress right now...Cody got laid off Thursday. We are still trying to recover from the wedding. Not that there is a GOOD time to lose your job, but right now is just tough. I know it's tough for everyone. Of course, this comes just a couple of days after I turn in my paperwork to go part-time at my job. So, that's on hold for now. I'm trying to stay positive, but it's hard. Cody is the positive thinker. He is an intelligent, hard working man, so I'm sure he'll find something soon.

Until then...I will stress about it.

The "holiday" that shall go nameless...

So, typically I am a Valentine's day hater; I feel it is a made up holiday for florist and Hallmark can make more $$. I'm just not into it. I always get Alana something and help her with her class Valentine's and all of that, but don't want flowers and all the mess. I'd MUCH rather have the $$ that is spent on flowers to get something that I really like. Well, this year Cody told me a week or so ago that he got me something and after much discussion about it and begging him to return whatever it is, I gave up. But of course since he bought me something, I had to shop for him. He is NOT easy to buy for. So finally I end up getting him a nice bottle of red wine...not like the $8 stuff we normally get and a few other things...nothing huge. We get up yesterday and we are getting the kids stuff ready to give them and on my nightstand is a card...well 2 cards really and a box of chocolates! He's so sweet! I got a funny card and a sweet one! So I gave him his stuff and we went on with our day. Well, we are getting ready for company and I am at the computer checking my email to see who all would be joining us for dinner and he comes in with a big grin on his face and something behind his back. He hands me an iPhone and says Happy Valentine's Day!! Crazy man! But I was super excited about it! Now I just have to figure it out! :-)

Maybe next year I won't be such a Valentine's hater. Hey, if my man wants to spoil me...I should let him...RIGHT?? ;-)

Busy start to 2009!

Wow! So 2009 started in a flash! I've been so busy! January 31st at 5:00pm, I married the man of my dreams! We got married in our home, so you can only imagine the work that went into that! Unfortunantly, I didn't have much to do with making the vision I had a reality. I was sick in bed the week of the wedding...UGH! It was awful! BUT...by Saturday I was great and I don 't think much of anything could have kept me from walking down that aisle to Cody! It was a perfect day! I am now Mrs. Cody Derrick!!! I'm so happy!

I've promised myself that 2009 I am going to BLOG! I think it'll help me deal with things...I stress too much! So....stay tuned!
